Our client is a major residential housing builder with a multi-million pound turnover and are looking to recruit an experienced and ambitious Construction Manager to help deliver a particularly high profile and high value project (£25m) that has been recently won. It is a new build commercial scheme based in the South East region and successful delivery will ensure high visibility and recognition both within the business and across the industry.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Construction Director and will also have a reporting line in to the project lead for this specific project. You will be expected to deliver the on-site programme, overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the project is kept on budget and on schedule. This will include substantial line management responsibility including a significant number of subcontractors delivering various elements of the project. You will also be expected to play a key role in the development of the construction plan, regular reviews and updates as well as ensuring a safe working environment is maintained across the site at all times, with an undertaking of ad hoc inspections.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience within the residential, and preferably, new build sector as well as a proven track record in managing a £10m+ project, from initiation to successful completion. Clear communication skills are essential, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are kept informed of progress and issues at all times. Experience of leading a substantial team of construction workers including managing subcontractors is also desired, as it will be vital the team have full confidence in your leadership abilities.
