Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join their team.

The Company:

Our client is currently expanding its sales operations and looking for a Business Development Manager to head up a new team. The company have operated for over 60 years and are industry leaders in the distribution of building materials and construction supplies ranging from suspended ceiling systems to fire protection solutions. They are looking for someone who would be instrumental in driving new business and identifying the right opportunities to build long term relationships.

Business Development Manager - The Role:

Targeting the residential and commercial sectors they are looking to recruit a self-motivated Business Development Manager to promote their range of products to main contractors, developers, sub-contractors, house builders and local authorities across the Manchester region. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, pro-active individual to build and develop customer and client relationships; ensuring outstanding levels of customer service are met at all times.

Business Development Manager – Key Responsibilities:

- Identify new sectors to target in order to expand the business portfolio
- New business development and account management
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities using logical and proven sales process
- Profile and understand the key persons to communicate with in order to close the business

Business Development Manager - Key Skills and Requirements:

- A positive attitude with a proven passion to develop and manage accounts
- Self-starter who can identify potential sale opportunities and bring them to fruition –working to defined targets set by the company
- Build and maintain a sales pipeline and meet sales targets
- Strong organisational skills and time management
- Great communication skills, ability to work in a friendly and consultative manner
- Experience in solution sales using a consultative approach – ability to communicate at a range of levels including directors and business owners

The successful candidate is likely to be working as a Business Development Manager in the Construction or Building Materials industries.

Candidates could also be working as a Business Development Executive, Sales Manager, Account Director, National Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager or Regional business Development or have equivalent hunter sales experience.
