My client is a leading On-Site Utility company offering low carbon, and efficient electricity, heat, hot water and cooling to a range of sectors including Healthcare, Hospitality, Residential, Leisure Centres, and Industrial sites in the United Kingdom.
The organisation design, install, own, operate and maintain complete combined heat and power (CHP) and natural gas chiller cooling systems tailored to the specific site requirements of the customer.

Customers pay only for the energy they need and use, at a rate guaranteed to be below their utility rates. There are no capital costs or operating expenses. As soon as my client begins producing energy onsite, customers typically realise cash savings, an enhanced cash flow and improvements to their bottom line.The main function of the role will be to develop and manage all aspects of the day to day operational and engineering activities of the business including the design and installation of and other energy generating plant plus their ongoing service, maintenance and operation.
The Operations and Technical Manager will be responsible for the financial performance of projects during implementation and operation. This will include full ownership of the Operational Profit and Loss. Although initially hands on and the sole technical resource, the Operations and Technical manager will be responsible for developing an appropriate team of skilled staff, partners and suppliers or subcontractor. The exact scale and scope of the team is to be determined by the role holder to meet the objectives of the business.
The Operations and Technical Manager is a senior management position alongside that of the Managing Director and UK Sales Manager. As such the role holder will be involved in the strategic management of the business, general management and governance. Although not a directorial position at present it is fully expected that the role holder will aspire too and become a director in due course.
The ideal candidate will have a Technical / Operations background in Energy or Utilities Solutions, This experience should be focused on either the design, application and installation of CHP solutions or on their operation, service and maintenance. The ideal candidate will be technical minded with experience of setting and managing project or department budgets.
